Raktambara - Madder Dyed Cotton Ajrakh Hand Block Printed Saree

Raktambara is a pure cotton saree hand block printed in the traditional Ajrakh technique and naturally dyed in a deep madder red. The rich base brings warmth and depth to the intricate geometric Ajrakh motifs printed across the fabric.

Carefully stamped using hand-carved wooden blocks, the saree carries classic Ajrakh elements - diamonds, fine lines, and structured borders that create rhythm through the drape. The contrast of black and beige detailing against the madder background gives the saree a striking yet balanced character.

Ajrakh printing is a slow and meticulous craft. Each fabric goes through multiple stages of block printing, dyeing, washing, and sun drying, allowing the colours to develop gradually and achieve their natural richness.

The cotton is breathable and comfortable, making the saree easy to drape and suitable for long wear while still carrying the depth and beauty of handcrafted textile traditions.
