Kasumba - Madder Dyed Ajrakh Hand Block Printed Cotton Saree

Kasumba is a pure cotton saree hand block printed in the traditional Ajrakh technique and dyed in a rich madder red, a natural dye valued for its deep earthy warmth. The saree carries classic Ajrakh motifs delicate circular florals scattered across the body, framed with rhythmic geometric borders and fine zig-zag lines.

Each motif is carefully printed using hand-carved wooden blocks, building the pattern slowly across the fabric. Ajrakh printing is a meticulous craft that unfolds over several stages of printing, dyeing, washing, and sun drying, allowing the colours and patterns to develop gradually.

The soft cotton base makes the saree breathable and comfortable, while the madder red tone gives it a bold yet timeless character. Subtle variations in colour and print are a natural part of the handmade process, making every saree slightly unique.

The saree comes with a running blouse piece inside.
